The Twin Towers Alliance Petition

"We, the undersigned, share the belief that nothing could be more inspiring to our people, or disheartening to our enemies, than Twin Towers, at least as tall as before in every respect, soaring above Ground Zero.

"We believe that the devastation of September 11, 2001, clouded the picture long after the rubble was cleared away and that a thorough public examination of the rebuilding option is overdue and now required before proceeding on an unalterable course.

"We recognize no financial or political roadblocks that cannot be overcome if rebuilding the Towers is the will of the people. And, we see no conflict between stunning Twin Towers and a noble Memorial, which belong together on this site that means so much to us all.

"We submit that there is only one way to truly heal the skyline of Manhattan and the heart of America: Rebuild the Twin Towers. Doing anything less would leave a permanent scar on the face of New York and diminish a legendary city."

The statement above rings just as true in 2013 as it did in 2006. The thousands of comments that have been left on the petition over the years are just the tip of an iceberg. The question to consider is not will new state-of-the-art Twin Towers be built — which no one knows for sure — but should new Twin Towers be built, on which most of us have always agreed.

The finances and politics at the site are in shambles. There is no guarantee that the other two towers will ever be built — giving us not a World Trade Center, but a lasting disgrace. Now, in 2013, the only right course is to establish what it would take to restore the majestic skyline with 21st-century Twin Towers soaring above the Freedom Tower and let the people decide if it is worth it or not — since the public is the primary stakeholder in every sense of the word and few things could matter more to the well-being and direction of our country.

If you agree with our efforts and goal, sign the petition. Don't believe the propaganda. It's not true...

I made a research about Twin Towers and 9/11 and I presented it in my class. I’m Italian and that day, not only New York, but all world lost those buildings, a symbol, a symbol of the work of thousands people and a symbol of freedom.

I never visit the WTC, and my dream is I can do it, but I don’t want visit One WTC, but the Twin Towers, rised again from their ashes.

Although I’ve never been to New York and USA I think WTC 1 & 2 were one of the most beautiful buildings I’ve ever seen in my life (by photos and videos). Manhattan had such a recognizable skyline. They should have been rebuilt and I hope they will be.

The twin towers where the best in the world. You expect that one tower that is barely taller with less space can ‘replace’ two towers that were twice as big if you put them together. What about those other buildings? They dont even look like towers they are there to try to satisfy you, to get you to forget about the towers. The towers that give you confidence, that give you a reason to take the long way to work so you can take a nice look at the buildings. What I’m trying to say is we need those towers, New York needs that icon, not one tall building and little buildings that just take up space. New York needs TWO buildings that are the tallest in the city or country, strongest in the world, and give tourists another reason to vist New York City.

The freedom tower is not the height to replace the twin towers. Rebuild the Twin Towers.

The twin towers were wonders of the world. I have marvelled at them and researched them to the best of my ability, and it saddens me that they’re not being rebuilt. For New York to have something taken away, and replaced with something as ugly and lonesome as the freedom tower — let alone the fact that there aren’t two! — it’s saddening. I wish I could have seen them in person and for the sake of everyone I wish to one day see them standing tall in the NY skyline yet again.

  • signature permalink Frank Papalia 3/19/2013

That Freedom Tower is a dishonor to all that the Twin Towers stood for. It is ugly, and looks unfriendly, like a pin forcefully stabbing itself into the sky. The Twin Towers were a symbol of the Western World, of freedom, liberty, and capitalism. There were two of them, like a natural couple, engaged in a peaceful dance that the whole world came to see. Whenever I think of America I see those Towers, and I see what they were standing for. I don’t think they are being rebuilt because so much that they had come to stand for had been destroyed when those subhumans put into action the raising of Hell itself.

The freedom tower is a disgrace! I had expected that the people in charge of the reconstruction would understand and consider the importance of rebuilding them as they once were. I am a frequent traveler to NY and consider it my second home so to see something part of history being ruined like it has been by these new modern designs is a complete disappointment.

It would be very nice to see again the two twin towers, those were a USA symbol, they should be rebuilt again to heal the scar, i think most people want them back.

I am from The Netherlands living in Malaysia. I would personally love to see the twin towers be built once more. It just has so much sentimental value for New York. Building different towers all together means the terrorists win. Lets rebuild them but taller and stronger to show that we are not afraid of terrorism. Its basically the same thing as killing a kids mom, then replacing the kids mom with a new one. ITS not the same person!! Lets act now to restore the skyline of New York, to not only fill the hole in New York, but also in our hearts.

Hi there, I have to say how beautiful those 2 towers looked, with the aluminium-alloy facades and sleek windows, Yamasaki must of been very proud of his acomplishment, but the twin towers never got the justification they deserved. It is always the same for critics, you never enjoy the beauty until it is gone.

They definitely made a brilliant set of buildings for America and especially New York.

In my heart being an Engineer I would love to see these much loved buildings rebuilt to exactly the same exterior and interior but much stronger. I have never actually been to the Twin Towers but I am deeply saddened that I did not see their beauty. I hope this becomes a reality.

Rest in peace all the people who died in this horrible disaster.

If you, citizens of New York (I knew this wonderful Town at 1995 and I saw WTC,) and all Americans will see again a new and strongers and secures Twin Towers but with the same design like the Originals (Twins of them! Is the right word!), these rebuilt give you back and all of us, Americans or not, the power of American People, proof that terrorism NEVER win, and YOU ARE NOT AFFRAID of some radicals and psicotic people (may be inside USA, who knows?). The new WTC give back to NY one of the Principal Symbols that define the City Identity, Like Liberty Statue and the most impotant: Its THE BETTER HOMAGE YOU CAN GIVE TO ALL THOSE INOCENT PEOPLE DIED AT 9.11 AND THESE FAMILIES! God Help You Forever!

Rebuild the towers! They were a symbol, not just from New York, but also from America itself! I was 5 years old when i saw the towers go down on tv. Still remember that day. Really love them! They’re still in peoples hearts! To rebuild the 2 is the best option for me, not just building one tower!

  • signature permalink Ned McCann 10/19/2012

When I saw a plane hit the twin towers it was a sad moment for me because I knew a lot off people who went to the twin towers before the attack. I would really love them to build the twin towers so who needs the freedom tower when we could build the twin towers back? America with out the twin towers the twin towers standing high up in the sky a better America a better life a better livf for Americans and a better life for everyone so let’s beat those terrorists. Let’s get our buildings back.

I was 14 (soon turning 15) on 9/11, remember it well. The outcome of the attacks still makes me sad, and I’m also sad because of how Ground Zero has been, is and will be treated. The current plan is just foolish and doesn’t do justice to anyone. To put it simple, the twin towers were and still are irreplaceable, no matter how many out-of-place replacements under the name World Trade Center are built in New York City. Rebuilding the towers would be an honor to everyone and to the city of NY. And yes, I would love to see those towers at least once in my life.

I think this project here is brave and noble, and by signing this I’m proud to be part of it! I’ll support you with the best I can from here.

Visiting ny next week, its a real shame not to see the towers, the new tower looks an impressive building but how can you build one where there was once two and call it progress,I’m afraid the politicians and powers that be are playing into the terrorists hand by taking a big step backwards by not going ahead and rebuilding these magnificent symbols of the world-a real shame!

hi, i’m from and live in Ireland, i think the twin towers should be rebuilt, i’ve looked at so many photos of New York before and after 9/11 and it looks much better with the twin towers, the freedom tower/one world trade center is ok but its nowhere near as nice or iconic as the twin towers. i really really hope that they rebuild the twin towers. hopefully someday in the future (within the next 10/15/20 years) i’ll be visiting New York and seeing not just the freedom tower/one world trade center at WTC but also the rebuilt twin towers.

I am really disappointed that they aren’t here today because I would of loved to see them! I really want to see them in the New York skyline again! Please rebuild them again but stronger and taller! Lots of people are saying it’s too late but it’s never too late! Please rebuild them!!

Coming from Northern Ireland I grew up with terrorism daily. When there were bombs we just kept getting up, shaking ourselves off and rebuilding. I’ve never been to New York but hope to go February 2013 and am sad to have missed the two defining buildings. You might have the Statue of Liberty but these were the real emblems of liberty throughout the world. Please rebuild them as a shining example of freedom and liberty for America and the rest of the world.
    God Bless you all.

Never been to new york but im going in march 2013 and im sad to have missed out on the chance to see them. Rebuild them. Make new york, NEW YORK again. The new plans will ruin the city and no one will look at it the same.

Ever since 5/28/02, when the depressing square hole dubbed “Ground Zero” was relieved of the destruction and shattering devastation that our beloved Twins became, 16 acres have taught us that bureaucracy runs America, political correctness forces the will of the few onto the will of the many and the rebuilding of the World Trade Center site has been a complete failure.

I embrace the new WTC, but I have a void in my heart and in my spirit. A void created by terrorism, and reinforced by incompetence. I know Lower Manhattan will NEVER have the Twins again. Yet… I just can’t let the flame of the WORLD TRADE CENTER die. It will burn in us until we get back what was taken! I don’t know how, or where, but that void will be filled once again.

New York will never be New York so long as the twins are not HOME.

Take them HOME where they belong. Then we have restored our skyline and then the bruises has HEALED in everyone and our Capital of this world has once again our Guardians, our Brothers watching over us.

New York is the Capital of the World and therefore it’s an issue for every citizen on this planet to argue for the right thing.

Are the terrorists our urban planners? Hell NO thats why we need to Restore the skyline with taller, safer and mightier twins back to lower manhattan.

BRING OUR TWINS HOME, REBUILD OUR TWINS.

    AMEN

My first impression of the New Twin Towers was WOW:).

Rebuild the twins NOW. Built them Taller, Bigger, Safer and more Mightier. Then we have restored the skyline and we have a salute to the fallen heroes and brothers of 9/11.

I want this in the Capital of the World. We deserve to restore our skyline with our twin brothers in lower Manhattan.

I will argue on this matter til the day they have returned our twins back to us.

    There’s must be a Re-Build.
Give the people what they want!
Many people from around the world that was born in the late 90′s like me. (im 15) wanted to see the Twin Towers. But i don’t agree with the outside inside changes. Keep the outside and the inside of the Twin Towers as the were with the rektangular windows and the nicer windows on the top and the first floor of the Towers. Just change the hold up of the buildings. The Steelpoles and more concrete. And keep the inside as it was on the original towers. Use the same blueprints and just change the hold ups. And use the exacley same material for the inside design. That would show americas enemies that you guys will not and not gonna back down for anything!!

TTA Note: The golden Towers on our site are symbolic of the golden opportunity new Twin Towers would represent for our nation — and indeed, the world. They also depict the reality that they would not be forty year-old buildings. Their destruction is a fact that cannot be undone. But we can restore their silhouette in the skyline and in our hearts. That is also a fact.

I remember seeing the Towers from Newark Airport in 2000, and being so impressed by them from that viewpoint. I wish I could have visited them but am glad to have seen them from there at least. Even though I do like the new One World Trade Centre, I do wish they could rebuild the Twins as they were.

I was only 5 years old when the 9/11 attacks were carried out. I look back it at now thinking how can these massive iconic towers be missing from New York’s skyline. The towers have a place in my heart and always will and they should never be forgotten. I am only 14 years old but one thing I would like to see happen before I die is the original Trade Centre build again. The new ‘Freedom Tower’ looks good, however, the Twin Towers have a special and unique [meaning] for me and nothing other than them will make up what happened on 9/11. Rebuilding the towers shows the terrorists that America is strong and the towers could easily be built stronger, taller and more safer. It is not about what is going to be there, it is about what is missing from the New York Skyline.

I think the WTC should be rebuilt again. When 9/11 happend, I was only a little kid, but now, 11 years later I have collected info about the WTC and 9/11 itself ever since I was 10. A year ago I have set myself 10 goals that I have to have done before I die. One of them was to do everything I can possibly do to help rebuild the WTC so that I can go up there. And I found this website and I hope that a ton of people participate so we can have the twin towers back! Never forget, Never surrender!
