It's Not Too Late!

We, the undersigned, share the belief that nothing could be more inspiring to our people, or disheartening to our enemies, than Twin Towers, at least as tall as before in every respect, soaring above Ground Zero.

We believe that the devastation of September 11, 2001 clouded the picture long after the rubble was cleared away and that a thorough public examination of the rebuilding option is overdue and now required before proceeding on an unalterable course.

We recognize no financial or political roadblocks that cannot be overcome if rebuilding the Towers is the will of the people. And, we see no conflict between stunning Twin Towers and a noble Memorial, which belong together on this site that means so much to us all.

We submit that there is only one way to truly heal the skyline of Manhattan and the heart of America: Rebuild the Twin Towers. Doing anything less would leave a permanent scar on the face of New York and diminish a legendary city.

    I would really like to see those beautiful monuments built once again. I really hope you get your project to be built. Keep on trying and never give up!

    The Twin Towers should be rebuilt as close as possible to the original design. To do anything else is to admit defeat and allow the terrorists to permantly change the Manhattan skyline.

    My sister & I (15 & 9 at the time of 9/11)were glued to the TV that morning & ever since had the urge to go to NYC hopeful that by the time we were older, saved up & planned our trip, the new WTC would be well under way. We were so disappointed to learn of the final design of the Freedom Tower. It is a slap in the face to all those who lost their lives, to the families left behind & to America as a country. The Twin Towers should be rebuilt. When we arrive in NY we want to see the Twin Towers..

    Im from Northern Ireland and it’s been my dream to live in New York and join The Port Authority Police Department since i heard of the 9/11 attack. A dream i plan to see through once i turn 21 in a few years, I think rebuilding the Twin Towers is a wonderful idea, both as a mark of respect for the men and women who lost their lives that day, and to show the terrorists that America will recover from this terrible tragedy, to finally complete the skyline again, its a terrific idea.

    We just have to have the New York Skyline back which we all came to love and treasure!

    The Freedom Tower has already been plagued with problems, and is costing FAR too much money and is, in my honest opinion, rather odd looking…

    Rebuilding the Twin Towers of the World Trade Centre Complex will show the rest of the world that whatever is destroyed can be rebuilt the way it was, just how monuments during both world wars were rebuilt and reconstructed after being destroyed.

    The compelling argument for a rebuilt of a structure similar to the old twin towers is the the ‘STATEMENT’ NYC would give to the world. Be assured Millions will appreciate a 115th floor view! May people argue about the simple design, but this should lead to a solution of a twin tower design and a breathtaking tall structure towering above all other skyscrapers in Manhattan.

    For us, the “rest of the world” people, NYC is a symbol. NYC without its twin towers is like Paris without the tower, Egypt without the pyramids, Australia without Ayers Rock, Moscu without the Kremlin. For us, the “Fear Tower” symbolizes the end of an era. Once the Fear Tower is topped, USA will never be the land of the free and the home of the brave. USA will be the land of the fearful. It is sad for us. Is it sad for you, americans? I hope it is too.

    If we let the “Freedom Tower” be built, it will undermine the great nation of the United States of America. If we rebuild the Twin Towers exactly the same or taller, it will send a clear message to all of America’s adversaries. You cannot change us for long. I recently traveled to New York City and was trying to figure out where the Twin Towers were. I should not have had to ever do that. I want to be able to look at New York’s skyline and say, “There are the Twin Towers.”

    I love New York City since i was 8 years old.
    9/11 was the worst day of my life.
    The second worst day of my life, was the day that i saw the Freedom “Fear” Tower Project for the first time.
    Please, don´t do that with our classic Manhattan skyline.
    Bring our twin towers back!!
    Please, we need the TWIN TOWERS 2.
    I miss the sunset on the “top of the world” with a friendly tower by my side…
    NY, LOVE YOU FOREVER.

    We owe it to the victims of the September eleventh attacks;

    We owe it to all the other victims of terrorism around the world;

    We owe it to America;

    We owe it to every other democratic state in the world that believes in the values of freedom and peace;

    We owe it to the men and women in uniform, who make such massive sacrifice in order to get to the root of the problem;

    But most of all;

    We owe it to ourselves.

    We owe it to ourselves and the people whose lives were lost to re-build the twin towers. That is a fact.

    Its been said many times before the Twin Towers were an integral part of the New York Skyline, there destruction was a terrible loss to City and the Country. There has been no plan bold enough or even suitable enough to replace them. As an outsider I have always marveled at the US attitude towards architecture and design, which is, to say the least, confident and unfettered. If you can’t beat it, then replace it. There simplicity was fantastic. Put them back, and make them the worlds tallest!

    I just spent a week in NYC and it is sad to see the gap in the skyline from where the towers once stood. Even if they were to build a memorial shell of the towers - that would be a much better option than the freedom tower. A true symbol of freedom would be to show everyone that NYC is not going to retreat from terrorism but rather that it is going to rebuild and to continue on with life as it was on September 10th. Rebuild the Towers!!

    In 1989, at the age of 17, i stayed in America for 6 weeks with a family friend and spent a day in New York (august 4th) and went up the top of the wtc as part of the tour i was on. Alas!! It rained for the entire day and there was no view whatsoever from the top as it was enshrouded by cloud! So rebuilding the towers would give me the chance to come back to NY and fulfil my dream of seeing the finest skyline in the world. REBUILD THE TOWERS!

    As I want to be an architect I agree with the fact that the World Trade Center should be built again. The original Twin Towers looked brilliant in books and I believe that the 16 acres at Ground Zero should be rebuilt. As long as they were better-looking, more protected and had the same facilities as well as a memorial I agree that the WTC should be rebuilt!

    America wasn’t built on compromise or trying to please everyone. Knock her down, she got up again and stood taller. This is not the case with the Freedom Tower. It represents a weak and scared America that is compromising itself. The Twin Towers were stark, brutal and singularly beautiful, and were representative of a time in American thinking of hope, determination and daring. The ONLY way is to build them again, Taller, Stronger, and more Determined. Put back America’s hood-ornament.

    I would ask that the victims of the September 11th, 2001 attack in the Twin Towers be given the respect and dignity that they deserve, and that very careful consideration be given for a Twin Tower replacement, and a Memorial that will respect and honor these 9/11 tower victims and the killed rescue workers. Thank you.

    The Twin Towers were not just the symbol of the Generation X, they were the symbol of New York, seen in the background shots of many popular sitcoms and motion pictures. We all know about The Statue of Liberty and The Empire State Bld, but to my generation, the Twin Towers of the WTC represented our time. I don’t think the Freedom Tower should try to fill these shoes. Please re-build the Twin Towers, and provide an observation deck. How about it Mr Trump?
    Thank you. Gary Sheridan, SYDNEY.

    Greetings from Canada! Im signing this for many reasons. Rebuilding the WTC’s Twin Towers bigger and stronger is just a very powerful message and definitely something to remember. The original WTC served New York in many ways from well World Trade to tourism and those who just like to gaze up at them. One more thing is that the Freedom Tower is just not the same especially when replacing the most famous twinned structures in the world. If they’re built il bring a Canadian Flag to the WTC if I go.

    Just build the originals again. It would be taking away the famous face of the city. And to the terrorists it would be the best signal. You can’t get us small, we just rebuild them.

    If you look at the design of the tower of freedom it’s actually not that bad. That being said, there should be two of them!! The smaller one should be 1776 ft tall, and the bigger one including the antenna should be some 2000 feet tall… I would say… The twin towers looked like glorious guardians of Manhattan, like the collosal guardians at Abu Simbel… the new design looks exactly the same as other major cities’ skyline… how sad!!!

    What can mankind say that has not been said, but rebuilding the twin towers is a dream and a wish of every peace and freedom loving human! Please America give us back history, it was a dream of mine to visit the twin towers so i still want to do so cause the towers will never die! I am so not over this. Hopefully New-York will become stronger then ever and I’am sure it will do so.
    Peace and love to all the New-York citizens.

    I’m Canadian but I lived in the United States for 8 years before returning home two years ago. I lived in New Hampshire when the towers fell. I think it’s a great idea to rebuild them, to show that Americans are not afraid. But I do think it might be a little creepy, and that no one would want to work there.

    TTA Note: Happily, many more people would be inspired and thrilled to have the chance…

    I had the privilege of visiting New York in early 2006 and so many New Yorkers in their homes and places of business had posters or framed photographs on their walls of the New York skyline WITH the Twin Towers in all their beauty. Rebuilding them is not to disrespect those who have passed, but to help us remember what they unwittingly died for - freedom. I should very much like to pay my respects again when next I visit New York, not to a hole in the ground, but to the rebuilt Twin Towers.

    Nothing fits as good to the skyline of NY as the twin towers did. They would be memorial, financial heart and the center of New York in one. They would be a national monument like washington monument or the lincoln memorial. The current plan which contains the footprints of the twintowers look like a grave and does not fit in such a lively and progressive city like New York. The new twintowers would symbolize strength rises like a phoenix!

    Rebuilding the towers to their former glory would be a much more powerful statement than the Freedom Tower could ever be.

    The twin towers defined the NY skyline. No other option therefore would symbolize New York’s recovery than the restoration of that skyline. To do anything else not only, in my opinion belittles the memory of everyone lost that day but also denies NY and the US the ability to make the statement to the world, “We’re back.”

    im sorry but the ny skyline looks fucked up without them, i may be from Australia, but i DO care for the twin towers, and i am fighting your battle with you!

    Rebuilding the twin towers would show everyone around the world, including terrorists, that the will and determination of this country has been and is still being tested. But, also to show everyone, that we can overcome such adversity and look to the future. Not only for perseverance, but to also honor those citizens and the emergency personnel that lost their lives.

    The Iconic world trade centres where an inspiration prior to 9/11 as they are today. The feeble excuse of the new design is both an insult and an abomination to all those who lost their lives on that day.
    I spent an afternoon in august 2001 just sitting on the Plaza in simple awe of these megalithic monuments, testament to mans enginuity and desire for progression in 1973… 35 years later we seem to of lost direction and a simple desire to do what’s right. Keep the faith friend.
