The Twin Towers Alliance Petition

The statement below rings as true in 2011 as it did in 2006. The thousands of comments that have been left over the years are just the tip of an iceberg. The question for those who consider adding their names to the petition is not will new state-of-the-art Twin Towers be built, which no one knows, but should new Twin Towers be built, with which most of us have always agreed.

We, the undersigned, share the belief that nothing could be more inspiring to our people, or disheartening to our enemies, than Twin Towers, at least as tall as before in every respect, soaring above Ground Zero.

We believe that the devastation of September 11, 2001 clouded the picture long after the rubble was cleared away and that a thorough public examination of the rebuilding option is overdue and now required before proceeding on an unalterable course.

We recognize no financial or political roadblocks that cannot be overcome if rebuilding the Towers is the will of the people. And, we see no conflict between stunning Twin Towers and a noble Memorial, which belong together on this site that means so much to us all.

We submit that there is only one way to truly heal the skyline of Manhattan and the heart of America: Rebuild the Twin Towers. Doing anything less would leave a permanent scar on the face of New York and diminish a legendary city.

I feel that the rebirth of the World Trade Center will not only restore the NYC skyline to what it was once before, but restore the American spirit, for we stay strong as a nation, but the rebuilding of the Twin Towers would completely mend the American pride way more than the Freedom Tower (One World Trade) ever would. PLEASE REBUILD THESE TOWERS!!!

I visited those majestic towers when i was about 7 on August 2000, I was amazed at the twin towers for being so big so… very tall and standing proud. I didn’t understand 9/11 until 5th grade, but I’m sick and tired of the world trade center being remembered as a tragic place where people died by new generations! WE NEED THESE TOWERS BACK the Way they were , not 1 tower, NOT 4 ASYMETRICAL BUILDINGS, BUT 2 TWIN TOWERS!

    BRING BACK THE TWINS!

The Freedom Tower is a Fear Tower. There’s still time and Room to build WTC 1 and 2 though. The port authority has ignored the American people in favor of short term financial gain.

The Towers need to be rebuilt.

The World Trade Center was a symbol of this country for years and whether a bit simple still very much recognized by the world. 1WTC, I have nothing against. Americans I have to admit are wallowing in the past and it’s time to move on a while ago but I know and most of America do the same that the twins have to return and that will be the true closure that we need.

The terrorists have already won by changing the New York skyline. The Freedom Tower is almost finished. We have lost the Twin Towers to both Al Qaeda and the politicians.

I can’t believe that the Twin Towers are gone forever. I am going to miss them terribly. Why did we let this happen? When I go to New York I will not be visiting ground zero.

I visited NYC in July 2001. At first the twins were scary for being so tall (I was 9), but I got to the top of wtc2 and it was spectacular! The highest place I have ever been on to date. The twin towers will forever be in my vision of NYC. To me that ground is still considered ground zero until the twins return one day and stand tall and proud, not only as a symbol and icon of NYC but America and a big middle finger to terrorism in the world. “Freedom tower” does the exact opposite.

It pains me to know that the Twin Towers and their famous Windows On The World and the Outdoor observation deck will never be enjoyed again. Personally because of the construction of the Freedom Tower I will never visit Lower Manhattan or the Statue Of Liberty again! Never!

It boggles my mind that we have not rebuilt them. Why would we ever settle for a memorial? We need the Twin Towers on the skyline again – compared to the stimuli passed, rebuilding it would be pocket change – and it would do so much more for morale. If Big Ben or the Eiffel Tower were destroyed, they’d be rebuilt. Why not the Twin Towers? And our economy was booming after 9/11, why didn’t we rebuild it then when there was the housing and real estate bubble!?

the new trade center just looks bad, like some new age japanese building, and has way to much glass, the old world trade didnt look like other buildings, it didnt just blend in like the rest it was something else.

New York just isn’t the same without the twins. Sure there is the two fountain memorial, battery park, and the statue of liberty. However what else does lower manhattan have? It use to have a two 110 story city within a city complex. A destination for business and pleasure that served as a symbol of New York since 1970/1971. They need to be rebuilt… no they must be rebuilt. It’s been my dream for a long time… to stand in Austin J. Tobin plaza and look straight up at just the sheer size of those beautiful buildings. To this day… that dream goes unfulfilled. The freedom tower just does not have the same beauty the twins had. The twins were Iconic… that in of itself should be enough to bring them back. Oh America… bring back my twins!

I LOST A FEW FRIENDS IN THE TOWERS ON THAT TERRIBLE MORNING OF 911. I believe that the towers should be rebuilt again, and stand majestically over NYC. It would be in great respect to the fallen heroes and fellow country men of freedom that we lost tragically on that day. It would show the world that all hopes for peace and freedom will never be removed from our hearts and souls. That the American’s who perished are not forgotten and their deaths are not in vain. I believe that the new towers would represent that we are a strong nation, that can rebuild itself stronger and rise up again after it has fallen. That we Americans can be reborn from the ashes like a phoenix. That we also can recover from our loss and pain, and show the ones responsib

Now the Freedom Tower is 92 stories up. I will still go to New York City but I will never again visit Lower Manhattan because I hate the new complex. I can go any where else in New York such as Times Square, Central Park, or Coney Island but I will never visit Ground Zero.

im only 15 years old but i know what america is about and what the word god means, both of those things were in the construction of the twin towers when they were first built in the late 60s early 70s, the twin towers need to be put up again to make not only new york new york again but to make america america again. i loved seeing the twin towers in the late 90s when i was around 4 years old during christmas time. it would be the best christmas present ever to know they will be built again with the right memorial.

The World Trade Center should be put back up. There is still time to put them up. I think Donald Trump is right they should build them bigger, stronger, taller and better. That day was a horrible day. Thank you, Jordan West

I am very upset that the Port Authority is starting phony towers 2 and 3 and refusing to rebuild the Twin Towers. On that dark day known as September 11, 2001, I knew that the Twin Towers should be rebuilt, it was obvious and a no brainer. I suspect that a swindle is going on, the Port Authority is using public property to do what they want with their private interests. This is a case in which capitalism is trumping democracy. Most people worldwide want the twn towers rebuilt, and democracy is 1 person equals 1 vote. I am heartbroken that I never got a chance to visit the Twin towers because one of the things that I wanted to do was go up on the roof of the South Tower.

When I was little boy, I ALWAYS wanted to go to New York and see The World Trade Center. The only time I’ve been to New York was in 2006 and of course they weren’t there anymore. This “Freedom Tower” just doesn’t look anything like the World Trade Center and it was a waste of time and money. I really want the Twin Towers rebuilt! It would hurt me to my heart if they never get rebuilt. They’re more things than just the two tallest buildings ever built, but they’re a monument in the United States that every American or non-American couldn’t resist to tour whenever they got to New York. I hope one day my dream will come true so I can go to New York and see the Twin Towers!

I was only three years old when the Towers fell, but I’ll never forget them. In recent months, I have been extremely interested in the Twin Towers movement and I am glad to say I found this site and support it fully. Everytime I visit NYC I see them standing proud and tall, and while the Freedom Tower is beautiful, it is not the World Trade Center. It will always be the Twin Towers. When I was a year old, my parents took me to the top of the South Tower on the observation deck and my dad went there often for business meetings and confrences. He wants them back, as do many of my friends and family. Don’t let this be the end of the Twin Towers! There are millions of us “9/11″ generation who deserve to finally witness their majesty!

  • signature permalink Brent Carter 11/1/2011

I agree that we should rebuild those beautiful towers as they were. Let’s build them the same, but this time, let’s make them safer and more self sufficient for a new age.

We must remember that the terrorist attacks of
September 11th, 2001, were on the World Trade
Center Twin Towers not the “American” Trade
Center Twin Towers. These towers belong to the
world. They symbolize world civilization and
commerce. It was not only an attack on America,
it was an attack on civilization itself. Their
new One World Trade Center tower monstrosity
and Memorial are monuments in fear and loss not
in strength and pride. They symbolize cowering
in fear and wallowing in sadness and grief.
These Twin Towers belong to us and the world.
Rebuild our pride. Rebuild our strength.
Rebuild our morale. Rebuild our civilization.

    REBUILD OUR TWIN TOWERS!

I like the Freedom Tower and think it’s a nice building, but it doesn’t replace the Twin Towers. There’s nothing wrong with a memorial, but they don’t need to plant trees all across the site. The museum is okay too, but they got a little carried away. I think we should have a memorial, but I think it would be even more honoring to the victims to rebuild the towers. The Freedom Tower is also nice, but they should build the Twin Towers as well. They could build the Twin Towers next to them. This might sound ideal, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up. The NYC government will not listen to what you say, so they will end up giving the terrorists the satisfaction that they can change the city’s skyline forever. They need to rebuild the twin towers.

  • signature permalink Karla Monterusso 10/23/2011

I feel deeply in my heart that we should rebuild the Twin Towers. Better, Stronger, Safer and Taller. This so-called “Freedom Tower” is an atrocity and it also makes it seem that America is fearful and weak. Fearful of the terrorists in which case they have succeeded, weak because we are perceived to not be able to get over these attacks and that we fear that rebuilding them would be a sad reminder. That is not true. We need the Twin Towers as a reminder that we are STRONG! That we can pick ourselves up after being knocked down. After all, the saying is “If you get knocked off a horse, you get right back on it.” Not, “If you get knocked off a horse, ride a cow.”

It’s stated in the Constitution of this country that we have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. If the twin towers aren’t rebuilt, it’s a slap in the face to those who lost their lives and those who try to carry on, a major destruction of an important symbol of American liberty, and most importantly an obstruction to the general desire of the public. There was a great loss in life on 9/11, but if the towers are rebuilt, we can be reborn as a nation.

  • signature permalink John Ryan 10/12/2011

Why should we try and “move on” to the “freedom tower.” We should rebuild the twin towers to forever enshrine the memory of the originals. To help rebuild the city and its perception.

i think the sky is bad without the towers. The towers stood for something better then most thought. Now if the twins are not rebuilt, this could get bad. Remember the windows on the world? We will never see it again. Remember the top of the world observasion deck? Nope never again! If we don’t rebuild the twins, the USA says to the world we lost. If we do rebuild them, were telling the world we won’t lose! The memorial is a good idea, but it would be better to rebuild the towers with a memorial across the street instead. PLEASE just rebuild the towers. There is SOOO much support for them.

Donald Trumps version (the original version) of the WTC is the only design i believe in. I, along with millions in America and millions around the world will NEVER recognize the worst architectural design in history which is being put up now in NYC. The new design only shows something bad to the world. It shows that the terrorists defeated us and we will never be able to rebuild and it shows that the US government put their own personal wants and gains before its people. I also think it is a disgrace to the people who gave their lives on 9 11. If the orginal buildings were back in place it would prove to the world that peace and justice will always win in the end.

The twin towers were not only a symbol of New York or the USA, they were also a symbol of international peace and prosperity. That’s why the two identical towers need to be rebuilt. It will show the rest of the world that no matter how much destruction and pain you throw at us, in the end, peace will always prevail.

Not rebuilding the Twin Towers show the terrorists have won by permanently changing New York’s skyline forever. I bet the people who were killed on 9/11 would want the Twin Towers to be rebuilt, it would be a more proper tribute than just building one tall tower and a couple of other smaller buildings around it.

(I know I’ve signed this three times already, but I just support the Twin Towers that much.)

The Twin Towers should be rebuilt just as they were, only stronger, and one floor taller. And about that hunk of junk known as the Freedom Tower- instead of demolishing it to the ground, they could simply take it apart, piece by piece. And that metal from the Freedom Tower could be used to build the next Twin Towers. If we don’t reconstruct them, the terrorists will have reached their goal in changing our skyline forever. Even if the new site gets completed, it can still be done- by disassembling the new WTC 1,2,3, and 4 and use the materials to build the Twin Towers II. And that idea alone proves that a new Twin Towers is never, NEVER too late!

TTA Note: Thank you for the fervent support — but it doesn’t help the cause when one person signs using different email addresses. When that happens, we delete the earlier signatures and give individuals a chance to merge the messages.
