It's Not Too Late!

We, the undersigned, share the belief that nothing could be more inspiring to our people, or disheartening to our enemies, than Twin Towers, at least as tall as before in every respect, soaring above Ground Zero.

We believe that the devastation of September 11, 2001 clouded the picture long after the rubble was cleared away and that a thorough public examination of the rebuilding option is overdue and now required before proceeding on an unalterable course.

We recognize no financial or political roadblocks that cannot be overcome if rebuilding the Towers is the will of the people. And, we see no conflict between stunning Twin Towers and a noble Memorial, which belong together on this site that means so much to us all.

We submit that there is only one way to truly heal the skyline of Manhattan and the heart of America: Rebuild the Twin Towers. Doing anything less would leave a permanent scar on the face of New York and diminish a legendary city.

For those of us who have seen the movie Click, seeing two freedom towers built side by side made me feel pure inside. It felt right, and looked like a good memorial and triumph over 9/11. A true mark of victory is to add another mark of victory. Show the terrorist that they didn’t bring us down, but made us stronger.

I remember the towers when they were be built and when they were completed. They were something to behold! How many of you search for them in movies shot in New York before 9/11? What is planned to be put in their place is an insult! Rebuild the Towers!

We need the towers back! its finally starting to hit home that they are gone, the originals. i miss gazing up in wonder at them or riding the elavators. they have to come back, its not the same without them. they symbolized the democratic free world.

Even now, nine and half years later, it still makes me sick at heart when I look at the skyline of Manhattan and reflect on it - especially when I think of what they want to replace the Twin Towers with. Bring back the Twin Towers in sight as well as spirit!

  • signature permalink Eric Johnson

Ever since I was a little boy, I’ve always wanted to visit New York because of the World Trade Center that once stood at the southern end of downtown Manhattan. Replacing that ground with the Freedom Tower is not only immoral but weak to our nation. We cannot allow the middle east their victory over us. Bring our towers back!

What better statement to those that support and perpetuate hatred against our country and way of life than to rebuild what was lost, and to do it more grand, bigger, and more beautiful than before.

  • signature permalink Thomas Taylor

I and EVERYONE I know want the Twin Towers back, not the monstrosity that’s currently under construction. By rebuilding the new towers in the originals’ image it would be a symbol of America’s resolve and defiance to those who brought them down and to those who would plan another attack like this…

Since the debate began on what to do with the WTC site, I have never been satisfied with the current proposal of the Freedom Tower. Why would we not re-build the twin towers? Give NYC its skyline back. Give America its towering symbols of freedom. God Bless America!

I’m a born and raised Texan and I’ve always admired the architecture of many of our cities including Manhattan, Chicago, Houston and my own backyard of Dallas.
Before the towers were destroyed I always took pride in the fact that they were so unique and they were ours. The day they fell was surreal cause it really felt like somebody had stolen a piece of America from us. I’ve always supported the idea of rebuilding the steel twins the way they were, if not taller. Please Rebuild them.

It has been over 8 years since that tragic day and we still don’t have anything done besides tower 7. I am all in for the rebuilding of the Twin Towers! Long Live Twin Towers II

  • signature permalink Scott Helphrey

Just rebuild the damn towers already, bigger and better. That ought to be the best tribute and show of strength!

  • signature permalink jeremy kraft

This is by far the best design and best tribute/memorial that could be built. These towers were taken away from us and we need to rebuild them in their likeness. No tribute could be greater.

  • signature permalink Gregory Wagner *

Its been nearly ten years since that tragic day. I was just twelve at the time and as watched every year go by the more i thought that there would be nothing built at the site. And after years viewing awful looking planed designs i saw this one it was one that i loved the most. And i always had a feeling that this one would be the winner regardless of what others said. Lets all come together like we did on that day and rebuild what was taken from all of us that day, ONE FLOOR AT A TIME.

Osama Bin Laden said it best when he stated that the foundation of all that is American died when the Twin Towers fell. Those towers are a symbol of America. By not building them back, we, as Americans are giving into the terrorist. Building them back taller and stronger only tells them that no matter what they do to us, we will come back stronger than ever…BRING BACK THE TWIN TOWERS!! PLEASE!!! Lets show those terrorist what America is made of!! God Bless AMERICA!!

Love the idea of building the Towers again!! What is going on now is a disgrace!

  • signature permalink Michael Disanti

We got to get going here the freedom tower complex is rising up faster and we cannot let that happen!

  • signature permalink Bryan Hall *

With the same speed and diligence as the initial rescue operation on 9/11, and subsequent site clearing operations, the Twin Towers should have been rebuilt exactly as before. The Federal government ought to have gotten involved and pushed this project through with 24hr construction till its completion. With the hundreds of billions they’ve spent in bailouts and programs in recent years, we can’t spare a couple billion to rectify this national disgrace? Absolutely pathetic!

  • signature permalink Efstathios Markantonatos

Build them. Build them again. Build them strong and tall and proud. Build them in honor of the fallen. It a question of national pride. Nothing can restore New York’s skyline unless the Towers are rebuilt.

  • signature permalink Logan Dockery *

  • signature permalink Steven Stubbs

To build anything other than the Towers as they were sends a message to supporters and those responsible for the attacks that they have to power to change who and what were are in here America. It is no insult to those who died and their survivors! It says defiantly that we are stronger than terrorists. You can knock us (Americans) down but we will always rise up again and survive–better, resilient, and indomitable!

There are so many things that can be said about the twin towers, but I’ll keep it short and simple. It’s what the people want. It’s more cost effective. I don’t know, 2 + 2 = what?

  • signature permalink Eric Murdnel *

I could go on forever about how the Twin Towers just HAVE to be rebuilt. There are many quotes to describe it:

“If the Statue of Liberty is destroyed, you don’t replace it with the Eiffel Tower.” - Donald Trump

“When the blood of Americans is stirred, there is nothing that we cannot achieve” - Kenneth Gardner

“Dream no small dreams.” - Austin J. Tobin

If I could, I’d write a huge speech about how awesome those towers are. But I’ll only say this:

    Rebuild what we lost.

Shove the terrorist message sent on September 11th, 2001 right back in their face. Rebuild our beloved Twin Towers, bigger and stronger than before. And show them that we will not show fear in the face terrorist thugs.

I will never forget I was sitting in math class and the principal told all of the teachers to turn the t.v’s on. The whole class room froze in speechlessness. No one said anything and a few people even cried. I was so upset to think that that kind of thing was really happening live on the t.v. That was a sad sad day at school. I will NEVER FORGET.

Put back what once was ours to begin with. We do not want nor need half of a tower we want OUR Twin Towers back, that is all there is to it, we the people are supposed to tell you what to do, not you tell us. Remember that in November. aho.

The twin towers were built in the 60’s, a time of upheaval and doubt in the American psyche. When they rose above New York it was a testament to the populace of the nation that their country still had the capacity to inspire them… to cradle them… to define them.

The times we live in today are closely paralleled with that decade. We all worry over the future of our nation. Building a single tower where there once were two is unfortunate, but bluntly fortifying it is a travesty.

There’s only one profile that would fit the Manhattan Skyline. And that is the glorious silhouette of the beloved Twin Towers. Nothing else would do.

  • signature permalink Dustin Boggs

please build the towers back the way they were

  • signature permalink Jason Cunningham *

Please rebuild the towers higher and stronger. What a great way to show these cowards that America is strong and we will prevail. New York needs to be whole again and anything else would not be appropriate. The twin towers deserve to stand again, stronger and taller. Please do the right thing.

In September of 2001, I wondered how long it would take to rebuild the Twin Towers. A year? Two years? Five? I never would have guessed we would go as long as 8 years with no progress. JUST REBUILD THEM.

  • signature permalink jeffery maloney

Alot of things don’t make sense to me in this crazy world we all live in, especially what they plan to build at ground zero in NYC, it literally makes me cry when i see pictures/videos of the former twin towers, then seeing a picture of world trade center 1 standing there, it just doesn’t seem right, please please don’t build world trade center 1 just REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS that i want to see and many many other AMERICANS want to see. I just want New York back.

The twin towers look a lot better than the freedom tower. 9/11 is a day we will never forget. And those who would rather have the twin towers back must take a stand. A lot of us liked the twin towers. It`s not too late take a stand for what you believe in. We will never forget the attacks. Please rebuild the twin towers!

  • signature permalink John Winkler *

I think that rebuilding the Twin Towers is by far the most satisfying dedication to the memory of what really happened on 9/11 and offers the most vivid proof of American values and spirit of perserverance in the face of great challenge. The message of “When you try to destroy America we will just rebuild stronger and better” is stongly evoked by rebuilding the Twin Towers. This is EXACTLY what Americans want and need to say in the face of our enemies. DO THE RIGHT THING!

  • signature permalink Joey Klender

I started studying the 9/11 attacks a year ago when I was 14. I believe that the Freedom Tower is telling the terrorists that took our American landmark they won. If they build the Freedom Tower, we will never have our building back that they took from us. We need to bring back the World Trade Center, taller and stronger than ever. We need to let the terrorists know that we will come back with Twin Towers that were better than before. If we build the freedom towers, they won.

  • signature permalink Davis Zekthi

The Freedom Tower is not American. It will only be considered an unwanted shell that stands next the most emotion-dwelling site in this nation. The Freedom tower design is space-like and has akward angles with a fourty story skeleton above its sixty story base. Bring back what Alkida tore down. DO NOT LET THEM WIN! Do not build the Freedom Tower. I am only fifteen years old, but I understand that we will lose our phsycalogical, and physical war, if we do not rebuild what they have taken away.
