The American people are being swindled. The “Freedom Tower” has been rejected by both the market and the public, but taxpayer money was pledged to prop it up with government leases. Those leases have not been finalized and should not be.
Why are those in charge trying so hard to drive a square peg into a round hole when the most popular solution – new Twin Towers – would also be the easiest to achieve?
An inspiring World Trade Center that is dramatically better in every way could be completed by the tenth anniversary of 9/11, if we act decisively now. It is showcased at www.WTC2011.com and outperforms the current plan using every metric.
We are all stakeholders in the future of “Ground Zero.” Most American citizens are joined by first responders, 9/11 family members, 9/11 survivors, construction workers, and members of the armed services in believing that the Towers should be rebuilt.
We have a right to expect officials to respect our wishes. When they overrule us, we have a right to know what would compel them to do so.
A thorough examination of the trouble-plagued plan is now more necessary than ever.
It is time to stop acting as if the Twin Towers were just buildings. They were landmarks in every sense of the word and most people long to see them back in America’s Skyline. It is time to remove whatever is standing in the way of that noble goal.

All faxes can be copied to NY Gov. Paterson, NJ Gov. Corzine, NY City Mayor Bloomberg, NY City Council President Quinn, the LMDC and the Port Authority by putting a checkmark beside their names.
New Yorkers: For now, only one Assembly Member (listed under “Representatives” may be chosen, so we recommend sending a separate message to Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, as well as one Assemblyman Richard Brodsky, who is the chairman of the committee looking into activities at Ground Zero. There is no problem checking more than one state senator, so be sure to select Majority Leader Joseph Bruno, as well as your individual senators.
