Rebuilding is the perfect way to show the people who destroyed the towers that they did not win. You can bomb the towers, you can hit them with planes and knock them down, but you can’t keep them down. It’s symbolic of the American spirit — perseverance, getting up and going on no matter how many times you get knocked down. To build anything else would just not be as powerful or as meaningful.
