The Twin Towers Alliance Petition The statement below rings as true in 2011 as it did in 2006. The thousands of comments that have been left over the years are just the tip of an iceberg. The question for those who consider adding their names to the petition is not will new state-of-the-art Twin Towers be built, which no one knows, but should new Twin Towers be built, with which most of us have always agreed. We, the undersigned, share the belief that nothing could be more inspiring to our people, or disheartening to our enemies, than Twin Towers, at least as tall as before in every respect, soaring above Ground Zero. We believe that the devastation of September 11, 2001 clouded the picture long after the rubble was cleared away and that a thorough public examination of the rebuilding option is overdue and now required before proceeding on an unalterable course. We recognize no financial or political roadblocks that cannot be overcome if rebuilding the Towers is the will of the people. And, we see no conflict between stunning Twin Towers and a noble Memorial, which belong together on this site that means so much to us all. We submit that there is only one way to truly heal the skyline of Manhattan and the heart of America: Rebuild the Twin Towers. Doing anything less would leave a permanent scar on the face of New York and diminish a legendary city.

An 8th grader shared this link with me. And since he made such a strong case to support your efforts, I feel compelled to join.
A combined set of Twin Towers and appropriate memorialization truly does make sense.

Build them bigger and stronger!!! God Bless America!
The rebuilding of the Twin Towers is a moral imperative. The Towers lent an ICONIC status to New York City as the center of commerce, freedom & democracy. A civilized & forward moving society does not cower in the face of challenge but instead rebuilds in a bigger, better & bolder fashion. That would be the greatest tribute and honor to those who died on 9/11, those who built this great city, & a lesson for generations to come. I am New Yorker by birth, a former downtown resident, and still work downtown. Lower Manhattan is one of the most beautiful and historic urban centers in the world and it has a right to maintain that status. Just building nice, pleasant, modern buildings in the place of the Twin Towers will never fill the void. — Christopher London, Editor & Founder, ManhattanSociety.com

Let’s literally “pick ourselves up” and rebuild the TWIN Towers and dedicate it to the memory of all those who lost their lives that day. Showing our resilience in this way is the best defiance against those who seek to destroy us.
I think rebuilding the twin towers will close alot of doors for victims as i am one. rebuilding the towers will not only show strength but closure in the whole incident. seeing the skyline without them is heart breaking and undescribable. i believe these marks need to be rebuilt to exact as they were.
Having visited the Towers pre 9/11, my then fiance and I had the privilege of kissing on the observation elevator to the top of the WTC. Sadly, no one else can do that again. Rebuild the Twins; a few stories higher. This time do the construction so they will not collapse and with proper fireproofing and stair escapes.
I work for Aviation International News in NJ. Before 9/11, our office used to overlook the Twin Towers. I would love to bring back the beautiful view the office once had. They need to be rebuilt!
We are a nation of builders. It’s time to get building.
New York City is, among many other things, the capital of comic books, a distinctly American form of entertainment. In the Eisner-winning graphic novel EX MACHINA, writer Brian K. Vaughan has his hero point out that when the White House was burned down during the War of 1812, it wasn’t replaced with a memorial structure, it was rebuilt as it was before. There can be no better sign of defiance, or statement that the lives and dreams lost on 9/11 will go on, than to return the Twin Towers to NYC.
No American will be without a tear of joy at the sight of our strong buildings rising again, and the short-cited owers could actually make a profit if they incorporate much needed condos, apartments, hotel rooms, retail, entertainment, AND offices into the venue. I would love to live there and would actually pay a premium to do so. *EVEN IF NO PART* of the buidings could be used, the huge void it will fill is well worth the financial cost of LESS THAN 1% of what the Iraq War has cost us already!
I’m only 19 & live in Rahway, NJ. Twin Towers were very beautiful & tall buildings. I didn’t know what happened to the twin towers of 9/11. I lost my favorite buildings. Five years later after 9/11, I know wtc construction had to be rebuilt. The freedom Tower is nasty and must not be built! If FT is built, the terrorists will win their victory. Let’s go with Trump’s idea & show the terrorists are very mean & thousands of people died from twin towers!!!
I stumbled onto this petition quite by accident, but I’m glad that I did. It never occurred to me that one option could be rebuilding WTC either just as it was (though it could never be that, because of those who will never return there) or even better. Upon reading it, I find this to be an excellent idea, because we’re standing up to terrorists for our right to live normal lives once more. I say, “GO FOR IT!!!”
