The rebuilding of the Twin Towers is a moral imperative. The Towers lent an ICONIC status to New York City as the center of commerce, freedom & democracy. A civilized & forward moving society does not cower in the face of challenge but instead rebuilds in a bigger, better & bolder fashion. That would be the greatest tribute and honor to those who died on 9/11, those who built this great city, & a lesson for generations to come. I am New Yorker by birth, a former downtown resident, and still work downtown. Lower Manhattan is one of the most beautiful and historic urban centers in the world and it has a right to maintain that status. I think rebuilding the twin towers will close alot of doors for victims as i am one. rebuilding the towers will not only show strength but closure in the whole incident. seeing the skyline without them is heart breaking and undescribable. i believe these marks need to be rebuilt to exact as they were.

Having visited the Towers pre 9/11, my then fiance and I had the privilege of kissing on the observation elevator to the top of the WTC. Sadly, no one else can do that again. Rebuild the Twins; a few stories higher. This time do the construction so they will not collapse and with proper fireproofing and stair escapes.

New York City is, among many other things, the capital of comic books, a distinctly American form of entertainment. In the Eisner-winning graphic novel EX MACHINA, writer Brian K. Vaughan has his hero point out that when the White House was burned down during the War of 1812, it wasn’t replaced with a memorial structure, it was rebuilt as it was before. There can be no better sign of defiance, or statement that the lives and dreams lost on 9/11 will go on, than to return the Twin Towers to NYC.

No American will be without a tear of joy at the sight of our strong buildings rising again, and the short-cited owers could actually make a profit if they incorporate much needed condos, apartments, hotel rooms, retail, entertainment, AND offices into the venue. I would love to live there and would actually pay a premium to do so. *EVEN IF NO PART* of the buidings could be used, the huge void it will fill is well worth the financial cost of LESS THAN 1% of what the Iraq War has cost us already!

I’m only 19 & live in Rahway, NJ. Twin Towers were very beautiful & tall buildings. I didn’t know what happened to the twin towers of 9/11. I lost my favorite buildings. Five years later after 9/11, I know wtc construction had to be rebuilt. The freedom Tower is nasty and must not be built! If FT is built, the terrorists will win their victory. Let’s go with Trump’s idea & show the terrorists are very mean & thousands of people died from twin towers!!!

I support rebuilding the towers (with anti-aircraft installations on the roof), only second to building one big, 200 story tall tower, standing up in the NYC skyline as the biggest possible New York middle finger to the islamofascist world.

Rebuild it as it was, only BETTER, meaning — should it suffer anyother terrorist insult, load is transferred to surviving structural members. AND a fire inspector friend who reviewed building construction documents says — shortcuts applying fire protecting materials to support beams was compromised by the impact. Replacing the two tallest, largest, and greatest towers in New York with four or five smaller buildings and a giant antenna is unthinkable.

To paraphrase what Kevin Kline said in A Fish Called Wanda, “Wake up! Wake up, NY developers and politicians!”
