It's Not Too Late!

We, the undersigned, share the belief that nothing could be more inspiring to our people, or disheartening to our enemies, than Twin Towers, at least as tall as before in every respect, soaring above Ground Zero.

We believe that the devastation of September 11, 2001 clouded the picture long after the rubble was cleared away and that a thorough public examination of the rebuilding option is overdue and now required before proceeding on an unalterable course.

We recognize no financial or political roadblocks that cannot be overcome if rebuilding the Towers is the will of the people. And, we see no conflict between stunning Twin Towers and a noble Memorial, which belong together on this site that means so much to us all.

We submit that there is only one way to truly heal the skyline of Manhattan and the heart of America: Rebuild the Twin Towers. Doing anything less would leave a permanent scar on the face of New York and diminish a legendary city.

The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center stood for world peace. When the Twin Towers fell everything became a disaster. I really loved the Twin Towers. I want us to fight hard to rebuild the Twin Towers. We are going to protest against the Freedom Tower because it is not right for the New York City skyline. Lets do what is right for this country and rebuild the Twin Towers. The Freedom Tower will never be like the Twin Towers. First of all the south tower in the original world trade center had an observation deck that was outdoors on the roof top. The Freedom Tower has an observation deck that is indoors. The Twin Towers are far better than the Freedom Tower. I want the Twin Towers back in the skyline. I hate the stupid Freedom Tower design. If they build that piece of junk in the skyline I will never visit that site ever! I will never set foot at the World Trade Center site! I want the Twin Towers back.

    Rebuild! Not replace!

I was fortunate to go inside the World Trade Center two times in my entire life. Both of those times I was a toddler in a stroller. To this day I always think about symbolism it had on the city, Empire state, Statue of liberty and the Twin towers. I agree with building the towers to make the city, the city again.

WE MUST REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS AS THEY WERE !!!
TO DO LESS WILL BE AN INSULT TO THOSE HEROS WE LOST ON 9/11/01.

If it aint broke, dont fix it!

Everyone loved those towers, why not rebuild them?

There should never have been debate, they should have been immediately rebuilt..

I know they started the new one already, but it would have been much more special to rebuild the twin towers. Would be more symbolic. I still support this.

I sign this petition on behalf of those who perished and would want to see the WTC restored, regardless of their demise, whose thoughts on the matter no one seems to take into consideration.

It would be more cost effective to rebuild the Twin Towers that complement the current “One World Trade Center” rendering. Silverstein and the Port Authority should consider dumping Towers 2, 3, 5 and build a second “One World Trade Center” adjacent to the current one being built. You can then add smaller buildings surrounding the complex and keep the current memorial design intact. People would be able to view the memorial from a greater distance and appreciate stronger and safer Twin Towers.

The current Silverstein plan only seems to accept that the U.S. has failed to defend its confidence and integrity. With a slumping economy and a unforeseen future the best we can do to get ourselves back on a healthy track is to revitalize Lower Manhattan, a.k.a. Financial Capital of the World, and lead the way to a robust America. By rebuilding the Twin Towers, we are showing the world that we are stronger. As current Towers 2, 3, 5 are disputed, we can easily rebuild Twin Towers. Yes We Can!!

New York has not been the same since 9-11. The idea of a freedom tower is just not enough. We have been delt a heavy blow one which had the people of our city depressed for a long time. The twin towers were iconic to NYC. Without them there’s an nasty scar on the face of our skyline. Anything else we build would just be cheap make-up trying to mask the scar. We know all the weaknesses of our lost Twin Towers. We CAN make them Taller, Stronger, Safer & more efficient than ever before. We should!

I’ve been to the twin towers maybe twice in my lifetime but, they have always been a majestic part of our skyline. I miss seeing them on the Q train going over the Mannie B. Heck, I miss seeing them…period. I say, if you want to bring our economy back to where it was back then, rebuild the towers. There was no freedom tower back then, was there? No! There were the twin towers.

To all the great citizens of New York, while driving in an around your city, delivering product from wisconsin, I have admired many beautiful structures, within your city. However, the twin towers have always looked so very special. As I live a mere 900 miles away, I can still feel the emptyness and void that will never come back, as long as the w.t.c. towers are gone. We must do the right thing, to show the rest of the world, even if by example, that we will not cower in the face of our enemies.

When I look out my window, I want to see the towers, not the tower.

When I was little, I remember looking up at the Twin Towers when ever I saw them. They were my favorite buildings, and I always thought they could never be brought down. I don’t want the Twin Towers gone because of an act of terror. I want them back, bring back the old New York skyline!

Rebuild the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers!!! I believe bringing the towers back will restore the icon and symbol of New York once again!!! I never was able to go atop of the second tower before, now could be me chance! Please President Obama, allow th PA to rebuild the twin towers! Rebuild it excactly the way it was, just make the buildings on the side glass with the memorial.

    I want the towers back!!!!

we need the towers back in the skyline with out them not only newyork but america looks like it has been defeated.

    BRING THEM BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • signature permalink Leonard Shaver

We must rebuild the twin towers if our city is to retain its greatness in the world. We live in a vertical city and to not have those towers is a painful reminder of a glory we had once achieved. Without those towers we have lost that glory and pride of place in our city and have been defeated by the terrorists and enemies of a free and open society. We need them both physically and psychologically as well as economically, in the long run, for our city to remain a great financial capital.

I think that the Twin Towers should be rebuilt. They were our strongest symbol of freedom and now more then ever they would represent that our city and nation is stronger and and better than ever and also they would serve as a tribute to the ones who lost their lives. I don’t understnad if 94 percent of the population want them back including myself, why they are doing the opposite of wht we want. I love the new twin towers by Kenneth Gardener.

    Please let’s all do something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG Just rebuild them for crying out loud!!!! Who Do Larry Silverstein and Chris Ward think they are?!?! Ken Gardner is a real tool. twin towers and twin towers 2 forever. they WILL BE REBUILT

I want to see the original twin towers rebuilt, but they should be built even bigger than they were before. The new design is ugly and stupid, and Silverstein should step down because he’s done a horrible job. Why doesn’t Trump buy him out and just build his twin towers proposal? I think he should if he can, he definitely has the money for it. Please rebuild the towers bigger and better! It’s the best way to stick it to those bastard terrorists.

I too want the towers built. I have photographs of the World Trade Center all over my home and have made my own memorials around the house. I usually can’t wait for night fall because that’s when I enjoy and turn on all the lights and tributes I’ve made here. I even have a lamp in my window that’s built like the Twin Towers and I’ve placed it there so when I turn on the lamp at night the second towers reflects in the window and I have my towers back. 6th floor of 295 Park Ave So. Take a look.

Having just moved to New York this year, it makes me very sad to see that nothing has been done to rebuild.

I am all for building new twin towers!!
No one will defeat the USA and bring us down.

I saw the whole thing on that morning and from the beginning I’ve wanted the towers rebuilt, but bigger and stronger. I was appalled by the so-called Freedom Tower’s design, and I am disgusted with the ridiculous construction delays at the WTC. I want to see Lower Manhattan the way it used to be.

I’m all in for rebuilding the Twin Towers, however, I don’t feel that building a New York/American Icon across the Hudson is the right idea. I would love to see the Twin Towers rise up from the ashes of Ground Zero but the PA doesn’t, Unless a miracle happens and they dismantle the “Freedom Tower” complex in favor of TTII. There is the idea of filling in parts of the hudson near the WFC to build twin towers II to complement the skyline. I’m all for restoring the Twin Towers, but in New York.

To not rebuild these towers as they were is a national disgrace! They represent all that is mighty and powerful with this great city and reflect the spirit of the USA. Please, enough is enough……REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS NOW!
