Click above to see the first draft of a tribute to the Twin Towers that will be sent to President Obama as soon as it is complete. The CD will be included in the inside front cover of the booklet Let It Begin Here — our appeal to the President to rebuild America, starting with Ground Zero. It includes a thousand of the most powerful comments left on the Twin Towers Alliance petition since it was started in 2006.

The video is a beautiful tribute to the Twin Towers that evolved from an earlier version sent to us in September by English college student, Alex Slingsby. Alex is a 16-year-old devotee of the Twin Towers from East Yorkshire. He invested dozens of hours into capturing the essence of what so many people around the world loved about the uniquely inspiring Twin Towers and he succeeded in creating an extraordinarily beautiful and uplifting piece.

The perfectly matched soundtrack is from K2 — Tales of Triumph and Tragedy. The commercial video footage will have to be purchased in order to remove the watermarks and upgrade the quality. Once that is accomplished, we will edit it down to around five minutes and post it on the Twin Towers Alliance YouTube channel, where we hope it will be an “Open Sesame” to the heart of an injured, but still hopeful, world.

The disc we send to Washington will also feature interviews with men and women on the street and in effect become a “Kitchen Table Summit” — because, as we have said before, the heads of state in this country are sitting around the kitchen tables of America. We may not agree on everything, but we definitely agree on what belongs at Ground Zero and it is clear that what officials are trying to force on us all at the World Trade Center makes zero sense.

We really think it will have the kind of appeal that could attract millions of viewers and create a climate for rebuilding that will melt the opposition, which is so out of step with the people of the United States and the world. That’s how we see it anyway. We encourage anyone who agrees with us to take this opportunity to support something noble by making a donation to help get it produced, without all the watermarks and other video noise.
