To bow to the “inevitable” when it affronts the will of the people
would be yet another death.
Many have reported on “The Struggle for Ground Zero,” — some much more honestly than others — but we have spent years living that struggle, and are continually surprised by how much misleading information goes unchallenged, just so an illegitimate plan can be forced on a public that is not properly informed.
It all boils down to this: The American people are being swindled at Ground Zero. Those who disagree should first examine our charges, before reflexively dismissing them. A point-by-point refutation of what we allege would of course legitimize the status quo, but no one has attempted it. Otherwise, everyone who has blocked this matter from being considered and debated openly has much to answer for.
We therefore have decided that another book on the subject is very necessary because it will establish beyond a doubt that a renegade Governor, a rogue LMDC, a complacent Congress and a complicit press have flagrantly subverted the will of the people — not through incompetence, but by willfully tuning out and misleading a vast segment of the population. So far, they have been successful in robbing us of what MOST of us long to see — a reborn, NOT a reinvented, World Trade Center. But we still have a good chance of preventing their dismal plans from defeating what matters to the rest of us, in spite of the conventional wisdom.
There are many culprits, as the introduction below suggests, but the commercial interests played a particularly unfortunate role. Mercantilists have an important place in our society, driving the #1 capitalist economy — particularly in the world’s #1 capitalist city. But they have been blinded to where their best interests at the WTC lie. Nothing they fashion could ever displace the legendary Twin Towers, which would always loom over the site, reminding the world of how far short we fell.*
In the meantime, we will pull out all the stops in advancing our noble goal. This may be the Eleventh Hour — but what could be more appropriate? It’s time for the American people to come together to rescue the Twin Towers and reclaim our heritage. Between now and next November, we expect a tremendous awakening to how significant “The Struggle for Ground Zero” truly is. It is important to add that all who have spoken to us off-the-record, or will in the months to come, can rest assured that we will honor their confidences. We’re very sure of the facts and are well-prepared to be challenged. To bow to the “inevitable” when it affronts the will of the people would be yet another death. We can’t allow that to happen.

“Severe Clear: A Post-9/11 Forecast for Democracy in America”
How many New Yorkers looked up at that Tuesday morning sky and told themselves they had never seen a more beautiful day? Probably thousands would recall just that. The atmosphere had been scrubbed clean by violent thunderstorms the night before, resulting in an aeronautical condition known as “severe clear,” characterized by crystalline visibility and dangerous turbulence.
In the years since 9/11, we have gone from being concerned New Yorkers, trying to play a part in the rebuilding of our city, to alarmed citizens and founders of the Twin Towers Alliance — at odds with a pervasively dysfunctional and corrupt system. Our experiences made us realize that the failure at the World Trade Center is a reflection of so much that is wrong in America and that our whole country needs restoring before the decay becomes irreversible — it is already profound.
Rebuilding the Towers is in everyone’s best interests, and there is an urgent need to present the information that makes the reasons for that clear. The focus now belongs less on who brought the Twin Towers down than on who has chosen to stand in the way of seeing them returned to their place in the skyline — and why. We have a unique perspective on this saga and would be remiss if we failed to draw attention to the arrogance and abuses of power that have so distorted the legacy of 9/11.
There is an unaccountable, increasingly brazen ruling class in our society that disdains the founding principles of our country, and we think that it is important to share what we have learned about the way it operates, before the next General Election. We are preparing a narrative that will resonate with people across the political and economic spectrums.
Divided into five sections — The Politicians | The Press | The Privileged | The People | The Power – the correlation is made between being true to our national character and finding the energetic resolve to face the future. Whether we like it or not, the survival of democracy in America is not guaranteed and we must stop tolerating and start overcoming the threats from within, as well as without. They are just as real, at least as lethal, and if not challenged, they will steal our country from us.
Citizens have a decisive part to play in restoring the health of our republic. Our success depends on being determined to rise above our disagreements and use our common sense to meet on common ground. Putting our heads together will give us much needed perspective on what divides us, and with it, the power to defeat what threatens us. That’s what makes this particular issue so relevant to all the others. Our strength is no further away than our memories of those anguished days following 9/11, when we recognized that we are all in this together and clearly saw that when we are united, we are superb.
*On 10/19/07, dailypress.com printed an article written by Joann Klimkiewicz for the Sunday Hartford Courant on the many charms of Brooklyn. Nestled in the middle of the article is one sentence that artlessly and powerfully conveys how natural it is to want to see the Towers back where they belong:
“Gazing across the river, you can’t help but replant the twin towers with your mind’s eye, imagining them back in their rightful spot, reaching up from the city skyline.”
Nicole Gelinas wrote in “World Trade Sellouts” | 5-18-04 New York Post, “Osama bin Laden gave the order to destroy the World Trade Center — but Gov. Pataki & Co. are paying for the funeral.” Actually, it’s the American taxpayers that are paying for it — as usual — but Mayor Bloomberg, Gov. Spitzer, Sen. Schumer, Congressman Rangel, and so many others, didn’t have to agree to be pallbearers. It would be hard to find a more despicable betrayal.
