The Twin Towers Alliance Petition

"We, the undersigned, share the belief that nothing could be more inspiring to our people, or disheartening to our enemies, than Twin Towers, at least as tall as before in every respect, soaring above Ground Zero.

"We believe that the devastation of September 11, 2001, clouded the picture long after the rubble was cleared away and that a thorough public examination of the rebuilding option is overdue and now required before proceeding on an unalterable course.

"We recognize no financial or political roadblocks that cannot be overcome if rebuilding the Towers is the will of the people. And, we see no conflict between stunning Twin Towers and a noble Memorial, which belong together on this site that means so much to us all.

"We submit that there is only one way to truly heal the skyline of Manhattan and the heart of America: Rebuild the Twin Towers. Doing anything less would leave a permanent scar on the face of New York and diminish a legendary city."

The statement above rings just as true in 2013 as it did in 2006. The thousands of comments that have been left on the petition over the years are just the tip of an iceberg. The question to consider is not will new state-of-the-art Twin Towers be built — which no one knows for sure — but should new Twin Towers be built, on which most of us have always agreed.

The finances and politics at the site are in shambles. There is no guarantee that the other two towers will ever be built — giving us not a World Trade Center, but a lasting disgrace. Now, in 2013, the only right course is to establish what it would take to restore the majestic skyline with 21st-century Twin Towers soaring above the Freedom Tower and let the people decide if it is worth it or not — since the public is the primary stakeholder in every sense of the word and few things could matter more to the well-being and direction of our country.

If you agree with our efforts and goal, sign the petition. Don't believe the propaganda. It's not true...

i was only in kindergarden on 911 & i would LOVE if they rebuilt them so wen i was older i could live there preferably 1 high up wuld b AMAZING i wuld give nything for that but i wuld make sure that no mater wat i wuld have a parachute in my room at all times so unless the plane hit me i could either walk down the stairs to safety or if im above and stuck i could break the window put the parachute on and jump out, deploy the parachute and decend the safety & RIP to all whom lost their life on 911.
TTA Note: Occasionally someone signs up under an obviously wrong category and occasionally someone “texts” his or her comment instead of spelling it out. But there is no mistaking the intent. Thank you, Anthony… you aren’t the only one who would give “nything for that.”

I agree 100%, ther´s nothing else to do, nothing more can be done, only two 107 stories (at least) can soar in that place, if they are not going to rebuild them, then bring back all the rubble and leave it that way, it must be rebuilt as it was, give NY it´s skyline, we all around the world miss it badly!

I think rebuilding would be a great idea.
I agree New York won’t be the same, untill they are rebuilt.

The Twin Towers have to be rebuilt. The Freedom Tower is not good for NYC because the WTC is recognizable with the Twin Towers but without it it’s nothing. The WTC would be garbage with the Freedom Tower. REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS.

The skyline don’t right look without the towers. It’s been there for years and now it’s gone. It still hurts every year on 09/11 as a reminder of that fateful day and will NEVER FORGET. Rebuild the towers if you will; but prefer to see the original but with up-to-date technology. New York just doesn’t look right without the towers. REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS

I would most definitely rebuild the towers. People always talk about what great things this nation can do, I think they should stop talking about it and JUST DO IT.

WE MUST REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS AND MAKE NEW YORK LOOK LIKE IT DID BEFORE SEPTEMBER 11 2001 AND THE PEOPLE THAT WORKED IN THE TWIN TOWERS THAT DIDN’T DIE SHOULD BE ABLE TO GO BACK. WE MUST REBUILD THE TWIN TOWERS AND NOT BUILD THE FREEDOM TOWER IT WILL TELL TERRORISTS THEY WON. THE TWIN TOWERS WILL TELL THEM THAT THEY LOST!!!!!!!!

Failure to rebuild the Towers, is to assign ourselves to permanant humiliation and degradation.

The only thing worse than the Attack on 9-11, is our failure to restore our skyline.

How will our Children judge us?

For eighteen years, beginning on May 3, 1973 until March 29, 1991, I was the Senior Public Buildings Manager for the State of New York. During that period we occupied the 23rd thru 85th floors, plus space on the sub-grade levels B-1, B-2, B-3 & B-5 of Two World Trade Center. I was retired and New York State was no longer a major tenant on 9/11. However, I almost lost my son who is an NYPD Officer and on that day was assigned to the First Pct. He now has 8″ of stainless steel in his rt. arm.

I am a 9/11 survivir. The best tribute to those who perished is to replace the towers as they were. By doing this we do not accept defeat from any foreign terrorist.
