Please cut and paste the following letter onto your own letterhead, making sure it is signed and dated, and includes your full address, email address, and telephone number. Then mail it to the White House or fax it to (202) 456-2461. A hard copy is much more effective than an email, so please take the extra few minutes. But do also email it on to your friends and post it on your website or Facebook page. Be creative in encouraging others to get involved – the time is right. Officials have had eight years to get it right at Ground Zero and they could not have gotten it more wrong. This is a vital national imperative. The trend is clearly from bad to worse. How much worse can it get? Our national self-confidence has been compromised, our ability to act decisively is in question, and our enemies have a giant propaganda trophy in their display case.
Why would anyone choose an ever-shrinking World Trade Center when plans exist for 21st-century Twin Towers and a world-class Convention Center that could be under construction within months? Why would anyone choose to spend a decade or more on a project that will never live up to the fabulous Twin Towers, when the truth is they can be restored better than ever?
That is what most Americans, most 9/11 Family members, and most of our friends around the world would love to see. Anyone who denies that is out of touch with the public’s heartbeat. Please look into the “Twin Towers II” proposal for yourself. Don’t trust the opinion or advice of those who do not respect the will of the people. It is definitely not too late…
If most people think that the Twin Towers should rise again, then why on earth shouldn’t they? If “Twin Towers II” can deliver what the people really want — and even do it with far more economy than the current scheme, far ahead of the official schedule — then there is nothing that can legitimately stand in the way.
If we can’t act together to get this right, then what will we ever be able to achieve? Some will say we can’t afford to fix this mess, but most of us believe we can’t afford not to. The people deserve an independent cost/benefit analysis — not one that has been cooked by those with a vested interest in the current dismal agenda. Let’s find out what it really will take and then let the American people decide what it’s worth to them.
