SIX YEARS OF THE WRONG PLAN FOR THE WRONG REASONS IS LONG ENOUGH!

"Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never — in nothing, great or small, large or
petty — never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense."

I really would enjoy seeing the Lower Manhattan skyline restored with the original two towers that everyone remembers. It shows a sign of courage and bravery that we all made it through the years and will continue to remember all those that risked their lives in saving others.

When I thought of the saying “United We Stand, Divided We Fall,” the Twin Towers came into my mind. Two towers standing for one purpose, yet they were divided. I never got to see them in person, and these could be so much sturdier and stronger than the glass sculpture (that’s what it looks like) that they call Freedom Tower. By not rebuilding those two towers, in my opinion, that saying above has no symbol.

In 1989, at the age of 17, i stayed in America for 6 weeks with a family friend and spent a day in New York (august 4th) and went up the top of the wtc as part of the tour i was on. Alas!! It rained for the entire day and there was no view whatsoever from the top as it was enshrouded by cloud! So rebuilding the towers would give me the chance to come back to NY and fulfil my dream of seeing the finest skyline in the world. REBUILD THE TOWERS!

Please rebuild the original twin towers design(maybe sturdier)–nothing else will be adequate to tell our enemies that we will never ever give up. If they take it out again we’ll build it again and again forever. Surrender is not an option now or ever.

Rebuild Now! Put the bureaucracy to rest! What a more fitting tribute to those who lost their lives, their families and this country than to have the Twin Towers II open on September 11, 2011? I can not think of any.

Every time I see a movie with scenes of the twin towers and every time I see a picture of New York post the destruction of the twin towers, I am reminded at what is missing in the New York skyline. The towers need to be rebuilt to help heal this nation. Anything else will only serve as a reminder of what’s missing.

I was born and raised in New York. The Twin Towers and the Statue of Liberty have always stood for unity and love of my country! Let the towers rise as a phoneix from the ashes!! Excellent, Excellent idea!!

As I want to be an architect I agree with the fact that the World Trade Center should be built again. The original Twin Towers looked brilliant in books and I believe that the 16 acres at Ground Zero should be rebuilt. As long as they were better-looking, more protected and had the same facilities as well as a memorial I agree that the WTC should be rebuilt!

To whom it may concern, Its been almost 7 years and we still have nothing to show for where the twin towers once stood. The freedom tower sounds nice, but I here it has serious design flaws, and I think it sends a message to the terroists that were afraid to rebuild the twin towers. What better way to show the world, the super power we really our by re-building the twin towers, and make them taller, and stronger. This will truly show that, “WE WILL NEVER FORGET”

    Rebuild it!
The Twin Towers II is what we need!
    Forget The Freedom Towers.
    That’s a compromise!
It’s like getting knocked down and “kneeling” in submission to The Terrorist!

    Build them stronger!

    Build them taller!

    Build them!

Like 2 middle fingers aimed at Terrorism!

It is understood by most of us that the so called freedom tower will NOT represent our nation as a whole and that the only way to do so properly is to build the towers taller and stronger! A quote from George Washington: “…it is of infinite moment that you should properly estimate the immense value of your national Union to your collective and individual happiness….indignantly frowning upon the first dawning of every attempt to alienate any portion of our Country from the rest, or to enfeeble the sacred ties which now link together the various parts.

Build both of them back! either the way they were, or even taller, same outside design, bottom floors make the WTC Memorial, and upgraded and hi-tech and technologically advanced! Bring back the nyc skyline, the symbol of NYC, the symbol of America, America’s international image to the world, and the symbol of freedom.

For NYC and the nation’s pride and DIGNITY, the towers should rise again!! Every time we see almost any image of the NYC skyline made between 1973 and that horrid day in 2001, we will think of 9/11. Why not help the healing by putting them back? Also, what better way to say “f**k you” to the people who wish to see America destroyed? We can’t bring the victims back, but we can restore an image eternally linked with their memories. EVERYONE WINS(except our enemies)! Up the towers!!!!!!!!

I agree that the replacement should include twin towers. I worked in the original WTC Tower II and loved that building.

  • signature permalink christof roche-gordon   Citizens of Other Nations

America wasn’t built on compromise or trying to please everyone. Knock her down, she got up again and stood taller. This is not the case with the Freedom Tower. It represents a weak and scared America that is compromising itself. The Twin Towers were stark, brutal and singularly beautiful, and were representative of a time in American thinking of hope, determination and daring. The ONLY way is to build them again, Taller, Stronger, and more Determined. Put back America’s hood-ornament.

From 9-12-2001 until present day this idea has been on my mind. The pentagon was not changed after the attacks on 9-11. If the Towers were left standing they would not have been torn down and a “Freedom Tower” built in its place. The Towers are an icon not just a building. Ladies and Gentlemen this is the United States of America. We do it bigger, better, stronger, and faster than anyone else. Lets make that known by our actions and not just idle chatter.

This is an outrage that they haven’t been rebuilt. I like Donald Trump’s idea build them back the way they were with one more floor…peace out.

  • signature permalink Julia Gile   Our Armed Forces & Families

Please honor the memories of those who died in the attack and those who continue to die to ensure this will never happen again! After 7 long years, something needs to be done, NOW. One big, pointed garden center is not enough. We need the Twin Towers back and better than ever!

The twin towers of the World Trade Center were more than just buildings. They were proof of New York’s belief in itself. Built at a time when New York’s future seemed uncertain, the towers restored confidence and helped bring a halt to the decline of lower Manhattan. Brash, glitzy, and grand, they quickly became symbols of New York. I believe the same thing can happen again if they are rebuilt. I pray they are. Good Luck Guys!

Yes, rebuilding is the way to go. Much more inspiring and invigorating than a sad and solemn memorial. May God bless your efforts in this.

I never thought about it, but rebuilding the twin towers as they were is THE PERFECT solution.

  • signature permalink Robin Kleinsteuber   Citizens of Other Nations

I would ask that the victims of the September 11th, 2001 attack in the Twin Towers be given the respect and dignity that they deserve, and that very careful consideration be given for a Twin Tower replacement, and a Memorial that will respect and honor these 9/11 tower victims and the killed rescue workers. Thank you.

Rebuild the Towers, and let the world know we, the USA, will continue on. We are free and shall continue to be free.

  • signature permalink Louis McCarten *   All Other Americans

By not rebuilding the Twin Towers, the United States is telegraphing to the Muslim World (and other enemies of US power) that it is weak underneath its facade of being a superpower, that it can be bullied and otherwise blackmailed into submitting. Americans should have realized by now that the New York City skyline has been a potent symbol of American power and the longer it stays damaged by the events of 9-11 the weaker it will appear to its enemies and in the minds of its own citizenry.
